Strolling down the quiet sidewalk of Pass-a-Grille in St. Pete, FL my friend and I stumbled upon a gem of a cafe – Vida de Cafe. The Fork Over Knife movie poster caught our eye in the window and we stopped to read the menu. They were serving Key Lime Cheesecake that looked amazing and we wondered how good could it possibly be if it was Raw Food. So we tried it. Wow, wow, wow. Who knew Raw Food could be so delicious and look good too??
We checked out the menu and decided we had to come back the next day for dinner. Boy were we in for a treat. The cost of each dish was so inexpensive we ordered a sampling of plates. We just couldn’t figure out how they were going to make tacos, tostadas, brownies and hot chocolate Raw style. But they did and each was more amazing than the last.
I am so glad we discovered this wonderful little cafe in St Pete. It opened my eyes to even more culinary possibilities. I was so impressed with the freshness, the full flavors and the creativity in each of these meals. I encourage you to try some Raw dishes if you ever get a chance. Especially if you are in the are of Vida de Cafe in St. Pete.
