Nutritious Thoughts

I was surprised and a little overwhelmed when I started learning about all the crap in our food system. I’ve watched documentaries, read books and spent an obsessive amount of time researching. If you know me, you know this has become a passion for me. Here I’d like to share a summary of the key things you need to know.

All the sugar in processed food is killing us slowly. No matter what you call it, sugar, fructose, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, etc. it’s killing us and it is in everything! Read the labels on the food you buy, you’ll be surprised. Most shocking to me was that kidney beans have sugar? Really, why would plain boring kidney beans need to be soaked in sugar??

Did you know that Sugar and Sodium is addictive? That’s right, addictive. That’s why you are always craving sweets or salty food. Try skipping sugar for a week. You’ll notice that you don’t crave it anymore. But once you put it back in your system the cravings will come back. Trust me, I did and I don’t miss it at all. In fact, now it makes me feel hungover if I have even the smallest piece. Yep, sugar is just as bad as alcohol. More on that later.

I’ll be adding recommended products and substitutes to help you avoid the harsh chemicals in our everyday foods.
